Oval tables have rounded ends. Some women like an oblong tablecloth on an oval table.

The best way to determine size is to measure your table. Always use the middle of the table for measurements. Both the country and pineapple patterns look best with a minimum overhang of 8".

To figure out what the overhang is, subtract the measurement from the dimension of the tablecloth. Divide the result by 2 and that is what your overhang will be on each side of the table.
Here's an example:
The width of your table is 40 inches. Subtract that from 54 inches and the result, 14 inches, is divided by 2 leaving 7 inches which will be the overhang on the sides using a 54X72 tablecloth. If the length of your table measured 60 inches the overhang would be 6 inches on the ends ie: 72-60=12 divided by 2 = 6.

Round tables have only one measurent...the diameter. A table with a diameter of 54 inches would have an 8 inch overhang all around if you were to use a 70 inch tablecloth ie: 70-54=16/2=8.

All other tablecloths will have the width listed first with the length second.
